If the OKX app crashes, freezes on the splash screen or will not load data, work through these steps. Most problems are solved in the first three.
1. Check your connection
Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data. If you use a VPN, try turning it off or changing server, as some networks block or slow exchange traffic.
2. Force stop and reopen
Go to Settings → Apps → OKX → Force stop, then open the app again.
3. Clear the cache
In Settings → Apps → OKX → Storage, tap Clear cache. Avoid Clear data unless needed, as it logs you out.
4. Update the app
Old versions can stop working after server changes. Follow our update guide.
5. Reinstall
Uninstall the app and install a fresh copy from the official download link. Your exchange balances are safe on your account.
6. Check if OKX is down or under maintenance
Exchanges occasionally run scheduled maintenance. Before you reinstall anything, open the official OKX Status page: it lists system upgrades, maintenance and issue resolutions. You can also check official OKX announcements.
7. Date and time settings
Wrong phone time can break secure connections and 2FA codes. Turn on Automatic date & time.
Keeps logging you out?
Battery optimisation or security apps can kill sessions. Exclude OKX from battery optimisation and make sure you are not clearing app data automatically.
