OKX Wallet social login lets you open a self-custody wallet by signing in with Google, Apple or email, without writing down a seed phrase first. OKX says the keys are created and held in a trusted execution environment (TEE) and that it never sees your seed phrase or private key in plain text. You recover the wallet by signing in again with the same account. The trade-off: your wallet access now depends on that social account.
Social login vs seed phrase wallet
| Social login wallet | Seed phrase wallet | |
| How you sign in | Google, Apple or email | Seed phrase or private key |
| Where keys live | Inside a TEE; OKX says it cannot read them in plain text | Only with you |
| Recovery | Sign in again with the same account and method | Only with the seed phrase |
| Main risk | Losing or having the social account suspended | Losing or leaking the seed phrase |
| Accounts | Up to 50 accounts per social login wallet | Many accounts per seed phrase |
Where it works
- The same social login wallet works in the OKX app, the browser extension, on the web and in OKX's agent features.
- Supported networks: EVM, Solana, X Layer, SUI and Bitcoin, from app version 6.187.0.
- Some DApps, DeFi products and networks may be hidden or restricted for social login wallets.
- Auto-Confirm (one-tap trade signing) is switched on by default for social login accounts.
How to create one
- Install OKX Wallet (app or extension) or open it on the web.
- Choose to continue with Google, Apple or email.
- Complete the sign-in. The wallet is created and linked to that account.

Recovery: the details that matter
- Sign in on a supported platform with the same social account and the same sign-in method you used to create the wallet.
- If you can no longer sign in to that account, contact official OKX support; OKX says recovery depends on your account status and the verification methods available.
- Apple caveat: the iOS OKX Wallet app uses a separate account system, so the same Apple ID can produce a different wallet there. Apple's Hide My Email setting does not affect recovery.
Exporting the seed phrase is a one-way step
You can export the seed phrase from the app or extension (not from the web) after accepting a risk notice and passing security verification. Pending agent tasks must finish or be cancelled first. What happens next is permanent:
- The social account is unlinked from that wallet for good.
- The wallet becomes a normal seed phrase wallet, and OKX can no longer help recover it if you lose the phrase.
- A new, empty social login wallet is linked to your social account.
How to stay safe
- Protect the social account itself: strong password and two-factor authentication on Google, Apple or your email.
- If you export the seed phrase, never screenshot it, store it in the cloud or share it.
- Only sign in through the official OKX Wallet app, extension or website.
